Ollie was skeptical about a family trip to Blackpool a few weeks back. If I am honest I was slightly dubious it would hold more than cock rock and drunken hens and stags.
We were both wrong.
I have no doubt that visiting at this time of the year means it was quieter than normal would be.
While strolling around we noticed lots of things we would love to do if we had the chance to return for a few days and so we are hoping to go back in the half term holidays later in the year.
Walking just around the sea front there were several attractions we want to visit, the first one would be a return visit to Coral Island which is packed with amusements, rides and family fun. Here are some of our top locations on our must visit list:
The beach on its own is a place that as a family we can’t wait to return too. Its beautifully flat and easy to access so a few hours will certainly be spent building sandcastles and relaxing. Obviously with the obligatory Mr Whippy ice-cream.
Next time we go we are planning on staying again in one of the local Travelodges with it being reasonably priced and located so close to the golden mile we found it easily big enough for the 4 of us to stay in one room and with the unlimited breakfasts (free for kids) we were set up for the day and had access to a carpark!
Next time we need also need to try out the warm doughnuts, from a stand on the seafront along with some fish and chips from the paper on the beach.
Have you been to Blackpool recently? If so what are your favourite attractions?
