I am taking part in weekly challenges with AXA PPP healthcare to make little changes one at a time to become healthier and happier! and each week I will be sharing with you, maybe I can inspire you too?
This week has been about looking at treating someone to a random act of kindness.
Now as some of you will know this week I have been in Hospital having some surgery and I have not felt very well at all.
However many people have gone out of their way this week with acts of kindness that were unexpected; from my Consultant who stroked my hair and wiped my tears on the operating theatre, to extra kisses I have had from my son for “Mummy’s poorly tummy” along with all the generous and amazing offers of help and support while I am recouping
that have blown me away such as this one
Penny who blogs at the Alexander Residence is the amazing lady that walked with my for our marathon effort for the Team Honk Relay were we walked side by side and pushed ourselves to reach our target both physically and financially for our target for the team. With some issues hampering the other team mates meaning their ventures didn’t get off the ground the pressure really was on to do the best we could to meet our teams £500 target.
So when I hopped over to the giving page this is what I found:
Although Penny had been beaten to the £500 mark by a super generous anonymous giver we exceed our expectation and Penny’s so thoughtful gesture was enough to make me sob. I sobbed with delight, hope and felt my heart lift at others generosity and support.
Having been on the receiving end of some lovely random acts of kindness’s over the last week I have been checking out a super website called The Random Acts Of kindness Foundation and have been thinking about how I can pay it forward and give someone else a little boost like I felt this week and I have some ideas on what I would like to do:
Donate to charity – With all these Facebook selling pages and ebay I tend to sell our unwanted stuff, whereby in the past I did donate it so it is my aim this week to get in the spare room and to clear out some stuff we no longer need or use and take it to a local charity shop.
Spend Some Quality Time With My Daughter – Over the last few months, with the pre teen hormones gathering speed we have been rather at odds with each other so in order to re-engage I am planning to spend some quality time with her this week … don’t tell her though or she will want to go out!
Give Blood – Now over the years since becoming and adult I have intermittently given blood but in the last 4 years I am afraid to say I have not bothered to go. So this week I am going to research and hopefully book a slot for next time they are in the area!
So there you have it here is what I am intending to do to make someone else’s day happier and in the case of giving blood, healthier too!
What would you do as a random act of kindness?
