For those of you that don’t know I am taking part in weekly challenges with AXA PPP healthcare to make small changes one week at a time to become healthier and happier!
Did you know that bowel cancer is the second biggest cancer killer in the UK … nope .. well neither did I till last week… and it scared me.
Bowel Cancer if it is detected and treated early it’s also one of the most treatable… and still that’s not the bit that scare me the most.
What does scare me is the fact that so many of us are still uptight about saying things in relation to our health and in this situation people seem to be shy/embarrassed/scared and even in some cases indifferent.
POO …….. FECES ……. TURD …….. CRAP …….. the list is endless … and what also is endless is the feces related jokes and the option to mention sweetcorn .. but I will refrain! ….opps it seems I am lowering the tone, however I have got you thinking about it! ..
I do it, you do it, even the Queen does it so why are we still so reserved with talking about it? So this April we should all make sure we are bowel aware as Bowel Cancer UK starts its bowel awareness month by knowing the signs of cancer!
So what are the 5 major signs of bowel cancer?
I think this super video explains it all:
So don’t forget talking about our nether regions and poo and any changes we have in our own bodies are not embarrassing! If you feel you would like to support the cause this month or any month come to that you can pop across to Bowel Cancer UK’s site as there are many ways that we can all do our bit. You can also find some more information from this site HERE
