This week AXA PPP Healthcare #52LittleThings challenge is to Phone a Friend.
Thats odd I hear you say, but there is a method in what appears to be madness. AXA PPP healthcare are setting one small challenge each week, which I am taking part in to become happier and healthier .. So this one is right up my Street, feel free to join me.
Working from home and working within a sector that is predominantly insular in its nature and it can leave me feeling very isolated and sometimes this has been known to get me down.
It’s at these times I NEED to phone a friend .. not just to gain some perspective on a situation and my feelings but really for my own sanity, to converse with another human being really is magical .. I know to some this makes no sense whatsoever as they may see folk everyday going about their business but I can go for days at a time without hearing anyone else voice except my family. Although please don’t think I am saying that there its a problem talking to my family, It’s just nice to speak to someone who isn’t interested in where the ironing is or when tea will be ready .. you get my drift.
So here are some of my sanity savers:
This motley crew are my saviours .. although for some I get to see them less often I know these are crazies that are at the end of the phone day or night closely followed up by in invite for curly fries, cake and a shoulder to cry on for those that are nearby.
These lovelies have seen me through some of the most darkest times in my life, they held my hand through divorce, domestic violence and depression and yet they have also seen me through some amazing times, from babies, Weddings, new jobs, houses and shoes! (well we all love new shoes, don’t we?!)
Not only have I been lucky to have such a super group of ladies supporting me I have been honoured to be able to
So who do you call when you need to phone a friend? or if you don’t phone a friend what do you do to keep sane?
