For those of you that may have missed my #52LittleThings posts so far – I am taking part in weekly challenges with AXA PPP healthcare to make small changes in my lifestyle one week at a time to become healthier and happier!
This week it’s all about setting aside 15 minutes everyday do an exercise that you enjoy.
My regular readers will know I have been on an epic weight loss mission .. one that saw me loose 4.5 stones only to then give up smoking and put 2.5 stone back on .. battering my confidence in the process.
During the last 2-3 years I built my fitness up and I even took up my most favorite exercise in the form of Hockey, but with the hockey season finished, summer league over and nothing in sight until September I have to get myself something new and something far more regular that hopefully I will love just as much! – If I don’t find something I love I know I wont stick at it so its super important!
Since making the decision that we should maybe have another child at some point and also being aware that I have medical conditions in relation to how I would carry another baby with my dodgy hips, I really need to push hard at shifting as much weight as possible not only to be healthier and happier in my own skin but also for us to have the much wanted Baby we are hoping for in the future.
So What Are The Benefits Of Regular Exercise?
Reduced risk of heart disease and even stroke: By strengthening heart muscle, and improving the blood flow round your body.
Stronger bones: Taking part in high impact exercises encourage bones to add mass effectively making them stronger.
Better self-esteem and stress management: During exercise the human body produces the happy and feel good endorphins
Better sleep: Regular exercise can help us sleep easier and have better quality of sleep.
So there we have it dear reader I am back on the mission that is weight loss and to hit it with every ounce of my being I have even shortlisted some possibilities of the classes I am hopefully going to start next week.
Although these are all longer than the 15 minutes, I am aiming to lose the weight and then take on a more regular regime of small and often to keep me going and to keep my metabolism happy!
The weekends I am hoping to make sure we do at least one activity that can involve the children such as biking, walking and generally spending some time in the great outdoors!
