I am taking part in the #52LittleThings challenge with AXA PPP healthcare to make small changes in my lifestyle, one week at a time to become a healthier and happier person.
This week it’s all about Starting to plan for a healthy Christmas meal and right now I could do with all the help I can get!
We have decided this year that we are staying at home and so I will be in charge of all festive food …. It’s a fab Idea and one that I am super excited about but also anxious about in equal measure.
For me vegetables feature very heavily in my must have for Christmas lunch .. especially Brussels… however for the other members of The Oliver’s Madhouse .. not only are Brussels out of the question but I need to find some healthy snack to go with the meal so I have my bases covered while the kids are off school too!
So first of all I have to get my thinking cap on to what we are going to have on Christmas day and reading some seasonal menu planning is certainly in order! We are pretty stuck in our ways when it comes to food and the festive season is no different, turkey is low in fat and great protein to it staying, however we are looking at reducing fats and so our roasted vegetables selection will be far less this year.
So we are looking at adding fruits and vegetable and to drinks, smoothies and such too .. This weekend we even tried a peach cocktail/mocktail that meant drinks with fruits in! (you can find the recipe: Peach Cocktails & Mocktails
If you are looking for some festive food and drinks ideas feel free to have a look at my collection over on Pintrest that Is growing hourly to my ideas!
