A few weeks back while browsing the goggle box Ollie and I caught a glimpse of a new advert for Philadelphia and their new Flip and Dip dips – the cheese lover in me was in awe! What’s more, Philadelphia have started a debate asking people whether they are a double or single dipper. I just knew I had to try these new dips to see if I could be tempted to double dip.
Philadelphia Flip and Dip is a lightly whipped cheese with a top coating that comes in three delicious flavours – Sweet Chilli, Mexican Salsa and Caramelised Onion. All of which for me sounded amazing. Though Ollie is less of a cheese addict, he is a massive lover of Sweet Chili and Mexican Salsa so I knew he would give them a little dip once they were opened … here’s hoping he wasn’t planning to double dip!
Having seen the beautifully domed dips on TV I wasn’t expecting my dips to come out the bowl quite so easily, however I was wrong they slid out easily and looked so cool! These would look great at even the poshest of buffet tables! We all loved the Mexican Salsa and Sweet Chilli best, and were really interested to find out where people’s dipping etiquette lay!
Double dipping is the act of dipping an item into a dip, biting it and then re dipping again. Most people claim they aren’t double dippers but when push comes to shove it was time to discover who is a double dipper in this house!
I can’t stand the thought of double dipping … even when alone. For me and my germaphobe anxieties I want to retch at the thought but on one occasion while digging into the sweet chilli flip and dip I so very nearly double dipped there for a while!
However, I have noted that I won’t be sharing my dips with Joshua again as he is a prolific double dipper … in fact he has no shame and is more than happy double dipping and triple dipping! *gag*
I will be taking my chances on sharing all 3 flavors at our first BBQ of the year in the next few weeks, we now just need the rain to stop. Although the good thing about Philadelphia Flip and Dip is that even if the BBQ is called off we can still have dips! Oh and they make great additions to a picnic!
Ollie is a mixture of both. He will double dip if the dip is solely his but single dip if it’s a shared dip … although he did claim that it would be easier to get carried away and double dip without thinking!
From here on in I think I will have my own Philadelphia Flip and Dip and allow the men of the house to double dip to their heart’s content; at a great price of £1.49 it won’t break the bank either. My only issue would be trying to decide which flavour to go for as they are all delicious and tasty!
So my dear reader, are you a #DoubleDipper or #SingleDipper?
