A little while ago I headed to London for a weekend of learning, mingling and meeting peers at Britmums Live.
I am not going to lie, Taking a trip down the Thames is something I have always wanted to do. As a family we had our first weekend in London earlier this year but had struggled to fit in everything on our list to do and this was one of the things we missed.
City Cruises offer a wide range of options of cruises from standard sightseeing cruises, dining cruises, party cruises and special events throughout the year so there is something for everyone and with families catered for to on some of the cruises they will be on our must visit list next time we travel down as a family.
Clare and I were lucky enough to be booked onto one of their sunset cruises that come with a free glass of bubbly and canapés and had a fully stocked bar and live musician. This cruise is for over 13’s only and costs £32 a head.
We decided that even with the cool evening breeze we would head straight to the open deck and take in the views from the open top deck and I can honestly say it was a wonderful experience.
As the darkness fell the lights in London were spectacular and I honestly can’t explain just how breathtaking some of London’s iconic views are at night like the Tower Bridge and the Shard not to mention the London Eye.
Our Thames Sunset River Cruise with City Cruises was immensely magical and its one of those experiences that I think everyone should experience. The only small negativity I had was that being on the open deck, about half and hour into the trip we were inundated with smokers which wasn’t that pleasant but obviously that isn’t City Cruises fault and we could go inside the cabin but it was our choice to stay outside.
Seeing London by the Thames is certainly something we are going to plan to do next time. Although secretly I have my eye on the New Year’s Eve event especially if they serve those canapés again!
