This week for the Mark Warner Active Family Month Challenge the theme is ‘Splash About’ We started the afternoon with the water tray and splashing calmly in there before progressing to the sprinkler of course with Daddy in tow!
We already go swimming regularly and the fact most pools now have a ban on photo taking, we decided to also share with you Joshua’s first time in a paddling pool, along with Daddy!
Now after some degree of technical difficulties (the top ring had a puncture) we carried on regardless with some extra care taken! its the Oliver’s way .. or should I say luck!
We or should I say Daddy and Joshua played with buckets, footballs, flip flops and boats and once Joshua’s confidence grew and Daddy’s shivers had subsided they had a lovely time all afternoon.
Swimming and confidence in the water are fantastic life skills for any child to gain and since I used to to go white water rafting (as a teen) and even had my own canoe. I really love the idea that my children will be good and confident swimmers and with Bethany being a confident swimmer already we really do hope that Joshua will follow in her footsteps.
Even though we had some minor technical difficulties, we had a whale of a time even if the water was beyond Baltic, thank goodness we had some lovely weather!
Now throughout this monthly challenge with Mark Warner I have decided that I will continue with our weekly post about our families fitness in the form of the Active Family bloggers linky that I have been doing from the beginning of the month. We are going to continue onwards and upwards with our families positives lifestyle change.
