So when my little man was old enough to
toddle walk Ollie has been training him to play football. These days my little fella is more than keen to impress and often will use his growing skills to gain attention and will do nothing more than revel in the attention it gives him.
However this attention seeking maverick soon gets bored and then starts picking it up and running like a demented chicken to hide it some place he thinks is safe.
This weekend with some gratefully received fine weather Joshua was back on top form and even excelled himself with his footballing abilities tackling Daddy and even ensuring that on several occasions Daddy got wet by kicking the ball into the sprinkler and waiting on the sidelines shouting ‘I don’t like it’ meaning the football coach was resigned to get soggy.
Ollie (hubby) often discusses Joshua’s fantastic ability and he ensures he tells him each and every time he plays he will play for some team or other and that Daddy will be there watching at every match.
I fear that there is only 3 outcomes to this scenario:
- Joshua grows up to hate football
- Joshua is exceptionally good and is signed for some amazing team
- Joshua is not good enough to ever get signed and I have to console a child with illusions of grandeur!
But what ever the future my hold for my little man, He and Daddy are certainly reveling in the football time together even if Joshua does run off and hide it in a pushchair!
