Weight loss, happiness and health have always been a major factor here on my blog and recently when I was given the chance to host a carnival for The Blogging Mums Facebook Club I knew instinctively that health and fitness had to be my theme. So this week and next I am going to share with you some inspiring and motivating people!
I have been on a weight loss mission most of my adult life and it has only been recently that I decided that ‘weight loss’ is not the be all and end all … yes its going to get you into perhaps, nicer and more trendy Jeans but for me the time has come to look at being positive and proactive to be healthier all round (in the hopes that I will get slimmer along the way)
Finding a sport or activity has also helped me no end to stay focussed but after the hockey season finished and before the Summer league started I had been struggling.
It also seems that I am not the only one to take a fresh look at my journey and to make decisions to make a fresh fitness start as the inspiring Jane from Practically Perfect Mums is now starting on her new spinning journey to manage her fitness and weight. I have to say I am a little jealous as I would love to try spinning but I am too short I have been told!
I was also eager to read how others manage to fit in their exercise regimes with a hectic lifestyle and I thought Emma from Bubba Blue and Me had a super marvelous idea about fitting swimming into some previously unthought of time of the day for me .. but yet its ingenious and it only goes to prove to me I need to think bigger and maybe a little out the box!
When I read the lovely Rachel from Confessions of a SAHM‘s post about finding things difficult but still persevering It totally resonated with me at the stage I am at right now and it made me feel a little a little less alone, motivation is hard to muster when things don’t seem to be shifting the right direction it makes it all the more difficult to keep going. I am loving her determination though! (keep going Rachel you can do it!)
One of the main worries I had when I started out this journey was finding the right bits of kit .. and it seems that Claire from Emmy’s Mummy & Harrys Too and I are very similar on that front.
I have been using my Fitbug Orb (I am also running a competition for one too at the moment) to measure my activity as has Claire, and not only that she has some lovely new sports shoes and an over shoulder boulder holder that would rival a professional runners, with the help of Sportsshoes.com …..keep on running Claire!
Starting out on a health journey can be a really daunting experience but the lovely victoria from My Little L and the super Chantelle from Mama Mummy Mum have got this covered! Chantelle has compiled a really useful list of Tips to weight loss and Victoria has shared with us her Fitness Routine in Pregnancy …. Which I sure wish I had known about in mine!
