If you know any of us in this family well you will know that we are more then tempted when it comes to the odd snack but this summer it was about adapting our snacking to the great outdoors, camping.
However with the winter now approaching faster by the day we had been looking for a snack that could quash even the hardened sugar craving for us all without being over the top!
Last week we discovered the new love of our snacking lives in the form of the new Maryland Cookie Thins.
Cookies are our family staple and have loved them from campsite to home and back again but we were thrilled to get the opportunity recently to try out both the Salted Carmel and the Milk and Dark Chocolate Thins which are the new creation from Maryland.
These thinner versions of cookies are lower in calories than their original cookie which for me is great news especially as I am trying to balance the families snacking without upsetting them all … including myself!
Obviously dear reader it was my duty to try out these competitors and I am pleased to say that the consistency is very very similar to the original cookie and you still get the crumble and there are crunchy bits in there too.
We have really been putting it to the test with other things too. After all a good cookie that is multifunction is only ever going to make me one happy Jaime.
I adored it to be dunked in chocolate puddings and custards and our autumn favourite is the updated smore! …
A base of a Maryland thin cookie, some marshmallows a chunk of chocolate and a Maryland thin lid baked in foil until the chocolate and marshmallow melts and then wait to cool for a little while (as the cookie becomes very soft and you might loose it on the floor) and then devour!
As much as we loved the smores I have to say I am so immensely proud of my first ever attempt of a cheesecake.
Which was mind-blowing! And if you want the recipe you can click the link above for it.
It has been a while since I came across something that I loved quite so much in terms of snacking but I think the Maryland Thins are here to stay in my house!
Why not pop over and see what other ideas for snacking Maryland might have for these new delights on their Facebook Page.
