Thats it, my favourite season is upon us and I could not be more excited.
For me a perfect day is a family walk out with some breezy autumn weather, Wellington boots then home for comfort food and a family movie.
This weekend although we didn’t get chance to have a walk out due to germs hitting me. It has been an ideal time to kick back and spend some time as a family watching films and eating some incredibly scummy comfort food.!
It has been nice to slow the pace down over September and get back into a routine following the craziness that was the summer holidays so we have been taking some time out to watch some of the classic films that we love in such as the beautiful Charlottes Web on Netflix and some all time classics too like Labyrinth, Shrek and Beethoven.
However on our comfort food list we were sent some recipes from Netflix as part of our Ambassadorship … however we took the basic recipes and made them our own!
First up was Taco’s – The recipe that came was Taco’s on the go … however since family film time is in fact a time for us to slow it down and get comfy we instead made soft taco’s and added in some peppers for colour, texture and taste and chillaxed instead.
We followed it up with pudding on the slow too, instead of making cookie and ice cream sandwiches with extra chocolate chips … we went for everything already in the ice cream and cookie … therefore saving precious minutes from being swallowed in the kitchen to instead gaining more time to watch TV as a family.
If you are planning some much-needed family friendly viewing and down time this Autumn heres some new programmes on Netflix to keep your eyes peeled for:
DINOTRUX: SEASON 3 – (Available 7th October)
THE MR. PEABODY AND SHERMAN SHOW: SEASON 3 – (Available 21st October)
SKYLANDERS ACADEMY: SEASON 1 – (Available 28th October)
Or if you’re fancying some more viewing without the kids I have been engrossed in the hypnotic Gilmore Girls which is on Netflix (seasons 1-7) and have just been lured into watching Stranger Things, season 1 which I can’t stop viewing either.
So that’s my viewing sorted this Autumn, what are you watching now? Whats got you hooked you can’t stop watching? and what are you favourite family viewing snacks?
