Back to school and the beginning… no I have not gone completely mad, I have decided with the start of the new school year and Bethany now starting year 8 I wanted to share with you the most special memory of my year 8 time at school.
Now some of you will already know that that Ollie and I met and first went out while at secondary school (before he dumped me … I make sure I remind him often!) I was in year 8 while he was in year 7.
I played tennis every break time and lunchtime and he watched out of the 3 storey block windows. Although I didnt know this at the time. After some time one of the girls in his form room came over and told me about him and it went from there.
Living in different villages we did meet up at the weekends and I spent a lot of time on the number 33 bus going to his village sitting on the park holding hands and wondering with all his friends round the village.
Who would of thought that 17-18 years later we would of got back together, had a son together and eloped to be married.
My school days hold so many fantastic memories for me not only about Ollie but about my friends and the fact my love of hockey also first started there too. I really chucked myself into my secondary school life and took every opportunity open to me.
I do hope my daughter will get the same out of secondary school that I got out of it …. although maybe not the boyfriend!
I am linking this post up with Tara’s The Gallery this week as the Theme is Back to School
