I am amazingly lucky in my job to discover whats new in the baby product industry and Britax are at the forefront at the moment will lots of lovely new products rolling out.
The first is the all new ADVANSAFIX III SICT car seat, which is a premium addition to its range of Group 1-2-3 child car seats. This newest seat provides superior safety for children aged 9 months through to 12 years (9kg-36kg) and is packed with Britax style and is available in their super colour options.
The ADVANSAFIX III SICT is forward facing Group 1-2-3 children’s car seat that has been developed with the safety features of the new car market in mind. Its installed with the top tether and ISOFIX giving it an even more stable fit into the car. The seat uses a five point harness up to 18kgs and then it can transform into a high-backed booster for older children from 15kgs – 36kgs when the 5 point harness is not needed meaning it grows with your child from 9 months through to 12 years.
We were asked by Britax to give this seat a whirl and to put it through its paces and although we don’t have a top tether for our older car we were allowed to try this beauty out in my Best Friend new car with on my godson who is the exact same age as Jacob.
I have to admit that I have never ever really got hands on with a Britax car seat before so I was really looking forward to it arriving and I am pleased to my excitement was only elevated once this product arrived.
The colour that we chose was the Ocean Blue and I am thrilled with the colour. It made the seat all the more striking and with its contrasting off white outer shell it really is an eye-catching seat.
It has deep, softly padded side wings and SICT technology provide excellent side impact protection, and comes with 3 recline positions which are easily to achieve once fitted in the car so no jerking your child awake when they have nodded off.
The ADVANSAFIX III SICT offers optimal lap belt positioning thanks to the latest Britax SecureGuard technology (patent pending) which adds an extra 4th contact point to the standard 3-point adult seat belt. The 4th attachment point helps to keep the adult lap belt in the correct position over the pelvic bones to reduce abdominal forces in the event of a frontal collision. This is safely stowed in the pocket on the back of the seat until ready to be installed.
Before fitting into the car we adjusted the head restraint and harness with the super easy function on the back of the seat. By squeezing the two darker grey pieces together you can move it up and down to the correct hight for your little one.
The seat was amazingly easy to install after looking at the installation video and knowing its installed correctly so easily is a great relief for any parent I am sure.
Overall this product is fantastic I am in love with it. However I am gutted that my older car doesn’t have the top tether meaning we are unable to use this seat permanently with Jacob. However if you have a newer car than my 13-year-old battle tank do take a look at the list of approved cars to see if you can consider this beauty.
ADVANSAFIX III SICT is now available in seven colours from £250 at selected retailers
