I have been quite vocal in the frustrations we have had as parents finding a car seat that can be used in both of our family vehicles.
My old Vauxhall Zafira has isofix anchor points fitted and so we prefer to fit seats using those in my car as we know this method can help assist in making seat fitting safer.
However in my husband’s Ford Focus has no isofix points and we can only ever fit using seatbelt and up to this point we had not discovered a seat that could be easily fitted into both our cars that wasn’t just using the 3 point internal harness, however this new contender from Britax would certainly tick the boxes for us.
The new Britax Evolva 1-2-3 SL SICT car seat has changed all that, it allows fitting by the 3 point integral harness but also if your car has isofix anchorage you can use those too! obviously this is a personal winner for me, however the Evolve 1-2-3 SL SICT great points don’t stop there.
Britax’s new seat, EVOLVA 1-2-3 SL SICT, provides car safety for children aged 9 months through to 12 years (9kg-36kg) meaning that after your child outgrows their infant carrier then this one product will last until they are 12 which for any parent is a great money-saving option.
The first stage provides a 5 point safety harness for your child with adjustable headrest and then as your child grows the seat can be changed so the child can use just the 3 point integral harness similar to using a high back booster.
It comes with the Römer SICT for side impact protection that minimises the force of an impact on your child in case of a side collision. The SICT deforms and simultaneously absorbs energy from the crash before it reaches the child, giving optimum safety for your little tot.
We have not personally viewed the new offering from Britax but we will certainly be looking out for it now it’s on sale in the UK marketplace for £210 and comes in 5 colours currently.
