Changing To Edible Gardening? A Giveaway (Giveaway now closed)

Changing To Edible Gardening? A Giveaway (Giveaway now closed) The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseThose of you that read my blog already will know I am a little bit obsessed with my garden, after moving here 6 years ago it would be fair to say my garden was beyond disgraceful with 20+ years of neglect it to the best part of 3 years to tame the beast and with a small child we made it as easily maintainable as possible but still with a fair amount of colour and foliage.

My garden has been a learning curve to me as previously I have never really been a garden person but there is something about our current space that has me totally obsessed with keeping it tidy and neat and best of all healthy!

Over recent months as Joshua is getting big I have considered expanding our garden into not just a visually nice place to be, but also a space that will work for us to in terms of feeding us.

As a family we tend to try to eat healthily and with a most of us being lovers of vegetables, turning a patch of garden into a vegetable patch is one idea we have had, although when I decided that the next autumn planting I might have ago at growing some veggies of my own I hadn’t planned on being pregnant so for this season I am going to have hang fire, what it does give me however is more time to plan exactly what I want to grow and if your thinking for growing some veggies here is some helpful information:

This year we have grown peas, parsnips, potatoes, sweet corn, onions, garlic, leeks, beetroot, tomatoes, peppers and carrots as well as raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, cherries and apples. Just don’t have enough room for greens: cabbage sprouts etc

My mum has been growing organic food for years, and she has everything, from hazelnuts to figs, plums, apples, pears, kale, potatoes, and pretty much any veg you can grow over here!
