This year we have several more camping trips planned and many will be had next year too, but I know from experience that clothing choices on a camping trip can drastically effect how the trip pans out.
Being so reliant on the weather in the middle of a field I am aware that my current wardrobe was nothing short of wrong on every level. With big and bulky clothing that made it really hard to pack small and with many of my items being thick it meant that once I was wet I was wet for a long long time and multiple clothing changes were needed if the weather was bad.
The first ever night I camped as a family we had torrential rain for around 10 hours and being wet and soggy is not the ideal situation when in a field and lacking in central heating.
Recently with so many more camping trips on the horizon I have been looking into what types of clothing make ideal items to pack on camping or even outdoor trips to make my life packing a little easier and to make my life a little more comfortable while I am there!
My new favourites are Jack Wolfskin Kalahari Cuffed Trousers that are designed for exploring no matter where you are in the world. They are a practical choice featuring in-built UV protection and moisture-wicking technology so helps to keep me dry on any adventures we go on and at a super lightweight 210g it means they won’t bulk up my packing.
Next on my clothing camping essentials list was the coat. After last times frozen camping adventure that saw me worrying I would be killed off with hyperthermia I can assure you that not all coats are designed equal and so it was my school girl error taking my lightweight hoodie last time in favour taking a bigger waterproof offering. The Arroyo Jacket however is both light weight and designed to keep you warm without bulking up the padding!
For me the ket features I am looking for in my camping clothing is to have moisture-wicking technology, lightweight properties and things that don’t crease badly when packed tightly!
Thankfully thanks to Simply Hike I have a few key items to start my drier, camping journey!
