This week has been a fairly steady on the fitness front.
There has been a whole heap of sweat and also a breakthrough too.
While at the gym this week I got chatting to an older fella who was telling me about his weight loss story and how he had been steadily loosing weight over the last few years and how he had very steadily lost 3 stones and now visited the gym 3 times a week for short stints in there but also he changed the rest of his lifestyle equally as steadily.
This got me thinking …
For so many years I have developed bad habits and had self-destructive cycles of gain and loss that it got me thinking … maybe I have it all wrong.
When I start on a healthy eating plan I throw myself in wholeheartedly but a few weeks down the line it almost feels like a chore and so slowly and steadily I revolt against it and end up back to square one.
So this week I have relaxed my eating just a smidgen, I have eaten crisps and even a chocolate bar and it’s not been the end of the world. I need to learn where that balance is between being active enough and eating less.
This week a miracle has occurred too on the husband front. Ollie is a fairly picky eater and I hate the whole what are we having for tea conversations and so this week he tried my weight watchers ready meals that I use when time is tight or when I need to get back into my acceptable calorie limit and he loved them!
I know this probably sounds crazy but this development in itself is mass for me as it means that finally the pressure if off meal times and we can use them when time is tight and just add in extra veg!
Although slow and steady started last week I am so pleased I have taken the foot off the gas and I am now loosing slowly.
This week I lost another lb
Ok so I know I haven’t broken my first stone maker yet and I know that I won’t get a big flashy award certificate when I do get there, however I am feeling mighty proud that even though it would have been so easy to give up I have kept on going.
Next week is half term here so I am not sure how I will fare but after this weeks epiphany I am going to broach it with a smile on my face.
Heres to week 10…
