I honestly can’t figure out just how we got here. Last time I blinked you were only a few weeks old and now you are a fully fledge, temper tantruming toddler with a determination like I have beer seen before.
Of all 3 of my children you are by far the most stubborn, with clear ideas on what you want and a refusal to back down ever. It certainly has been a learning curve with you. Learning to pick our battles and preempt your refusals really should have gained us a degree in mediation all things considered.
Over the last 2 years you have given me an awful amount pride watching you turn Joshua into a big brother, in which he has done an amazing job of looking out of you and teaching you things. You on the other hand have taken great delight in getting him into trouble and would follow him round all day long if you could. Although maybe not if Fireman Sam is on the TV as life stops when Sam is on the box.
You have been the baby that wrapped his Daddy round his little finger, I thought your brother had done that but it seems you have taken it to a whole new level. I think it’s because you are the very last baby and as such you certainly get away with more than your poor brother did! … I am sure this might come back to bite us on the arse at some point!
During the last 2 years you have been a bit of an adventurer and have visited so many places. All of which have been a joy for us all to see as you discovered new and exciting things to see and do, most of them involving Joshua, like partners in crime.
This last month you have taken to yet more changes with nursery now a weekly thing for you. Daddy feared you wouldn’t take to it. I feared nursery wouldn’t take to you .. With you’re frustrating temper and your stubborn streak it can be a teeny tiny bit scary, at least until you give your grin and your cuddles and then go out your way to make people laugh. Even when you flooded nursery in week 3 they still love you to bits and it’s not hard to see why when you are just so damn cute!
Today we have some time planned with you just you, me and Daddy and I can’t wait to make yet more memories before I blink again and you turn 3. This coming year I can’t wait to see your little personality develop and maybe we can have a chat soon about using your words instead of keeping them hidden and being lazy with them.
For now my littlest of boys, enjoy your birthday cake.
