Weight Loss Journey Week 9 of 2013

pepsi max

As we all know last week was a dismal fail and to be fair I didn’t care!

So this week I have got my exercise back on track completing all my targets but my eating has still not been the best.

This week has probably been the hardest mentally for me as last year I very rarely had a week in which I gained where last month I lost very little and what little I lost I did gain back.

This being the case I have had to take a look at this rather stagnant weight loss and asses in fine detail exactly what is going on. I know the first bit of weight that comes off does tend to be the easiest but this is really getting silly so out with the magnifying glass and a bucket full of honesty.

I don’t eat breakfast …. I know this is not good and whats worse is some days I don’t eat lunch either, my next failing goes hand in hand with this as I rely on Pepsi Max to get me through till tea time where I can easily consume 2 liters a day ….. that’s it its out in the open I am a nutter who is rotting her inside on a daily basis. I cant help it in my defense I seriously think I have an addiction to the damn stuff.

So next week I am aiming to eat breakfast everyday (although not cereal since I HATE milk) I will also cut down my fizzy pop intake to no more than 2 pints of Pepsi Max a day and at least 6 pints of water.

So my targets for last week were:

  • 2 x 3 Mile Walks
  • 2 1/2 hours hockey training
  • 70 mins Hockey Match on Saturday

What  I actually completed this week:

  • Walking – 2 3 Mile Walks
  • 70 mins Hockey Match (we drew 1-1)
  • 2 1/2 Hours of hockey training

So how did I do?

0 (stayed the same)

Total Weight Loss This Year:

6.5lbs

Total Loss (including last year)

4 Stone 6.5lbs

Next Week’s Targets:

  • 3 x mile walks (min)
  • 2 1/2 hours hockey training
  • Eat breakfast everyday
  • Cut down my Pepsi Max intake

I know I need to do something and since I am doing all the right things with my exercise I need to make positive lifestyle changes …. this will undoubtedly be a challenge!

Well I think you’ve done marvellously! I’ve only just joined your weight loss post journey, but from an objective by-stander, how much you’ve lost in total is amazing. I guess we all hit a wall dont we. It’s getting over it. And I reckon that writing it on here helps with that – we can all keep an eye on you! :) Not really. I think hockey training is the best way as it gets you out the house in the evening and that’s when I tend to snack! And 70 mins of hockey is 700 calories! (I lost a lot of weight playing hockey so I know what it’s like, and now I dont those hockey players thighs are all wobbly – nevermind :) Lots of luck!!! x

  2. I think you are amazing in what you have already achieved. On the fizzy drinks front, two women at my Slimming World group gave it up for one week having hit a wall and both saw pretty impressive weight losses. No guarantees but worth a try? Lovely to meet you today – you made it all much easier for me.

    • Jaime says:

Thanks Kate it was really lovely to meet you too. I dont think I can go cold turkey on the Pepsi Max front however I am going to cut it down drastically this week … well i will try! :-)

  3. Hi Jaime. I had a virtual nil loss this week too. Funny you talk about Pepsi Max my husband is also losing weight because he needs to for his hip arthritis (he’s actually losing more than me due to his depression and lack of appetite). Anyway, he drinks Pepsi Max by the litre too. I keep telling its bad for him but its all he drinks (really all he drinks). I always thought Pepsi Max was calorie free so wouldnt affect weight loss? But I don’t know as I hate fizzy drinks. On the plus side, you had a fab meet up today and I’m really jealous my fav bloggers live flippin miles away xxx

    • Jaime says:

Aww Karen it would be so nice if we lived much nearer!! I am so like your hubby on the Pepsi Max front and although it is sugar free its filled with carbonated nasties that can affect the rate your body works. not that i am technical (at all) lets hope next week we both do better will pop over friday xx

  4. wendy says:

me too i stayed the same, my problem is the chocolate, you are doing fantastic with the exercise, good luck for next week xx

  5. Shell Louise says:

Well done on completing all your exercise targets and good luck for the week ahead :) xx

  6. Well done on the exercise and good luck giving up the fizzy drinks. I was drinking up to 5 cans of diet coke a day, but I’ve just given it up. I had a headache for a few days, but now I feel great, my skin looks better and I’m sleeping better at night too.

    • Jaime says:

Thanks so much for your comment, I am dreading the headache bit! This week the aim is to cut down I think going cold turkey would tip me over the edge right now! If i could get down to 4-5 cans a day that would be great :-)

  7. Well done with the exercise and fingers crossed cutting down on the pepsi helps =] Im the same with coke I drink it all day long if not its usually relentless! Hope you manage the breakfast too x

    • Jaime says:

not done so well so far on the breakfast front up to yet! Doesnt Relentless make you hyper?

      • Im terrible with breakfast too I only remember lunch since I had Eva and do ours together half the time lol Relentless only makes me hyper after my 3rd in a row.. (I used to drink about 5/6 a day!) none of the other energy drinks do anything really but I just love the taste!
