I have to be honest and say that as bad as it sounds I had never really put much thought into ethically sourced products but over recent months with news reports highlighting large companies abusing workers in terms of unfair wages and illegal work hours along with poor working conditions I have really taken an interest in supporting more brands and companies that are being fair to all.
Now initially when I first started researching about ethically sourced products I had presumed that products would be more costly on the purse strings and I have to admit I was totally wrong.
Recently we were asked to take a look at some new products from Bambini & Me who not only support ethically sourced materials for their products but they also take it to another level and in fact produce clothing from bamboo.
Again I have to admit that I was unaware that you could make things from Bamboo and just presumed it was for Pandas to eat but it seems Bamboo has more to offer than just a tasty snack for a hungry panda!
Not only does bamboo provide super soft materials it is also anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, moisture wicking (drawing moisture away from skin) it’s also more breast able than cotton too and the fact it needs no pesticides or fertilisers to grow and can be harvested each year giving it more sustainability than any of its peers!
So I was really excited to discover how the products wash and wear and had been very kindly sent some items from their new range to have a look at.
First impressions of the rompers and vest were that I wish I had bought these for newborn size too, they are super cute, and look to be really good quality.
They gave the cuddle factor a while new edge but I have to say that washing and drying them only added further to it as they almost felt like clouds.
The print on the rompers and vest were really eye-catching but in a more stylishly subtle way than bright colours.
For both the vest and the rompers it was easy access through between the leg poppers on both and a full poppered front on the Bambini & Me romper and a really great neck opening with poppers on the vest that I haven’t seen on any other clothing to date.
Vest wise we wore it underneath other clothes but also while it has been warm out we have used it as a top in its own right too.
To wash both the rompers and the vest thankfully they were machine washable at 30 degrees and after several washes they still look like new and dry reasonably quickly.
The only thing we noted was that we needed a size larger than Jacob is normally as they are a slim fit, but that could be down to have a rather chunky baby.
Rompers currently retail at £21 each and the vest are retailing at £14.50 so are not a cheap option but certainly by no means more expensive than some High Street retailers and the rompers make for an outfit in themselves and the vest is multi function so I feel they great key pieces in his wardrobe.
Each item also arrives in its own individual presentation box so would make an ideal gift too.
