If you have followed my blog for a while or if you have followed my food and interiors blog notTHATJaimeOliver.com you will be aware that while being pregnant I have been like a master of DIY and I have been titivating and decorating for the whole of my pregnancy and now the house is decorated it would be fair to say while nesting I am looking for accessories to finish off the bedrooms!
I am not a massive fan of clutter and over filling shelves but after the token cuddly toys went on the shelving in the nursery I have to say I am still not so happy with the accessories we have in either of the boys bedrooms.
They are not that inspiring and since I have spent so much time and money-getting the bedrooms to such a lovely state it seems that the accessories are letting them down!
Don’t get me wrong it’s not like we have had the funds to have full fitted bedrooms throughout but we have had new furniture in some rooms and reused other good quality furniture we had but yet my original plan above saw me not really thinking about accessories!
Which is something that needs rectifying as the nursery is a very small room and picking the accessories that will be practical and stylish needs to be a must.
Instead of stuffed animals on one of the shelves we could go with something like the storage boxes above in the nursery and even get some dark blue for Joshua’s room too! And although bunting was one of this accessories that I wasn’t keen on when it first came out I think if we used some like the one above in the right place it would really make the space.
I am fairly shocked that its taken me so long to look into accessorising and I have to say I am kicking myself I havent done it sooner.
Do you think accessories make a room?
