Even after our amazing UK holiday recently in which we had some spectacular weather to match the fab location there really is something special about boarding that plane and taking off, although in fairness neither Ollie (hubby) nor I like flying .. its the just knowing that when your feet hit that foreign soil and the doors open that heat blast hits your face and you know nothing more than lovely location, sun lounger and a slower pace of life is on its way.
I have been fairly late into the foreign holidays stakes, a French trip in year nine at school, a sailing trip in my mid teens and my first proper holiday was with my daughter to the Balearic isles. In the same year my friends and I planned what would have been the very first girlie holiday for me, who knew that deciding would be such an issue .. with some wanting go visiting that party island Ibiza and some wanting something a little more chilled it tooks some time to get everyone singing from the same hymn sheet and in the end we opted for something so much more laid back but it has got me wondering .. did I miss out on visiting that party island?
Can Ibiza ever be anything more than a party location in my head? Ollie is adamant that after already visiting in the past there is so much more to do than you think and that there are parts of the island that are far quieter than I think…. who knew?!
So dear friends on facebook making me rather green with envy … I am aiming to make you jealous too and I am pledging that next year The Oliver’s will be hopping on the obligatory plane and will visit a rather lovely location that we can spends some quality time together making some memories …
where will we go?
who knows but I can guarantee one thing
we will have an amazing time!
