Yep that’s right there have been changes afoot or should I say changes in my bedroom!
I moved into my house just a little over 4 years ago with Bethany … at that time Ollie and Joshua where but a distant twinkle as this chapter of my life was just around the corner … anyway I digress.
Before moving into this lovely house there were some serious changes that had to be made, full electric rewire, a new kitchen and to top it off the whole place was surrounded with the most horrific internal decoration:
Before moving in I managed to get the 4 bedrooms done and had almost completed the hall stairs and landing. However with 4 days to go before Christmas the living room remained with the most rancid curtains I can honesty say I had the displeasure of seeing never mind using!
After the Christmas the remainder of the house became complete room after room, one after another and with each room I felt empowered and proud of the hard work I had put into making this house our home.
My room was always my sanctuary that when the work had been hard I could go there and reflect at what I could achieve on my own so it was always a special place for me.
A mere week or 2 after the last room had been completed Ollie and I started on our life together, soon becoming pregnant with Joshua and building our family further.
It never really occurred to me till recently (when I decorated the living room again) that Ollie had never had a say in the room colours or soft furnishings of this house as it was complete when we decided to live together. So after some deliberation I decided to decorate our bedroom in a colour of his choice … in fairness I should of known what colour he would pick .. blue
(he is an Everton supporter)
So after some internet searching and the help of the Bedding selection at The Range we or should I say I, selected the duvet set and curtains that would contain the colours I would use for the rest of the room.
On decoration day I was really nervous about starting, about the mess and the disruption the decorating would create, not to mention … what happened if I didn’t like the room once it was finished with its face lift?
Although I am not an interior designer I think I did a reasonable job of putting together the finishing touches which also were from The Range such as the lighting and the cushions …. well every bed needs more cushions than a sofa .. it’s the law isn’t it?
So with the total cost coming in at less then £175 including the paint and rollers I think it has been money well spent …….. What do you think?
