The journal itself has a hard cover and has a colour coordinated ribbon marker, has 120 pages and 140gsm uncoated paper meaning there is lots of space for those special moments over the first 5 years, the quality paper makes a statement … some I have seen are very thin and leave raised writing marks on the back of the pages so it looks cheap .. This is nothing but good quality!
Inside the journals the illustrations are featured on every page but yet leave plenty of space for photos and other precious items like scan photos. Which is great since I know I gave up Joshua’s baby book in favour of something with more pages in so to have more space is a bonus with me!
Overall this is lovely item and I would have no hesitation in buying this for myself or for a gift for someone else. The only thing that would be nice to see is a more neutral version. If I was to buy this for a baby shower lets say, there would be no guarantee prospective Mum would know the sex of her child so a more neutral option in this particular early years journal would be a nice bonus.
Inside these journals I love that the things it asks you to record go above and beyond the standard journals that I have seen before with things like ‘what were you wearing’ and “what we ate and drank’ making it super special as everything truly is recorded.
