I have spent the last 6 months on total and utter freakish nesting.
From what I remember from the my previous 2 pregnancies nesting tended to occur in the last few months of pregnancy however from the word go with this one I have been overwhelmed by the need to organise, clean, paint and sort.
In the last 6 months I have single handily tackled decorating the whole house from top to bottom after starting the decorating in our bedroom, I have sourced and organised almost all our baby clothing and equipment (minus the pushchair and car seat) and have kept my work flowing too …
If I am honest looking back I have absolutely no idea how I have managed or where I found the energy between feeling sick and the bouts of tiredness. The only saving grace is that at least it’s all done and dusted before the pain in my hips reaches epic proportions with my extended SPD.
However today I have finally finished everything on my decorating house to do list and I am not afraid to admit it that I even shed a tear or ten.
I have reorganised every cupboard, wardrobe and even loft and so now every inch of the house is spotless, fresh and awaiting the newest member of the Oliver household.
The only thing left on my pre baby arrival list is to sort my hospital bag, set up the Shnuggle Dreami baby sleeper and fit the car seat base into the car (even if we don’t have the seat yet we are using the same base as before) and to batch cook enough meals for a month and then I am ready.
Firstly I have to tick Christmas off the list … yep yet another list … but with my trusty Christmas list I have almost tackled all of that too!
Does that mean I can now climb into bed and sleep till January? … I doubt it I am sure there are more lists to make.
