Its fair to say that these days our children are surrounded by screens, consoles, phones and other electrical equipment all day long. So its easy to forget that fresh air and screen free time is still a must.
Joshua if left to his own choices would spend all day attached to a console but we have discovered that extended periods of time leave him being rather grumpy, snappy and generally unpleasant so we have drastically reduced his screen time.
This last month we have finally got round to spending some much needed time in the garden and out and about but lets be honest playing can sometimes lead to tears. From the child that loves playing outside games and the baby that doesn’t understand along with the general bumps and scrapes that come with outside space, freedom and the great outdoors.
This summer Elastoplast have my back covered with their range of Frozen and Starwars plasters that will cheer up even the saddest face … although maybe not mine as Joshua doesn’t want to share the Starwars plasters with me the meanie!
Finding funky plasters has always been a great hit at cheering up a crying child and it’s normally followed by big hugs and a change of subject so they don’t dwell on the injury.
If all else fails and there is blood and it’s not just a scrape a Mr Whippy ice-cream is a must with hundreds and thousands for everyone all round.
So this summer we will be celebrating the fallings down and the getting back ups with Elastoplast and ice-cream and now lets keep waiting patiently for that sunshine to appear and stay and then we are all set for even more family time.
