When I started out on my weight loss journey and my mission to get fit up until this point I made do with some cheap nasty jogging bottoms and a super baggy t-shirt, perhaps I never thought I would stick with it.
Although my ultimate goal had been to learn to run and that one still is a way off I have loved being part of a hockey team that loved my enthusiasm as much as my inability to play a whole match without throwing up a lung.
However much I hate to say it I have been struggling with gym of recent weeks and in fact a phone call from them this morning had brought on nothing but guilt and Its left me wondering why I am not so enthusiastic about going back.
The last class at the gym I attended if I am honest did nothing but make me feel silly. Its nothing to do with the lady that ran the class or in fact the other participants but was so totally about me and how I felt in my own skin I fear.
My jogging bottoms were too big and I have held off buying any new ones, my top is unflattering and is a standard t-shirt that once sweaty, clings to all the wrong places and if I am honest while doing cool down stretches on the floor I felt little more than beached whale and the uncomfortable feeling pops back into my head at the mere thought of returning to class.
Normally I am not a massive clothing follower other than buying clothes that are well made and reasonably priced so why up until this point I have not looked at applying those principles to my new fitness attire I don’t know …. but that is going to change!
I am looking to make some better outfit choices that mean the right amount of stretch is added and I am in total need of a new sports bra since mine is 2 years old and gapes in the wrong places.
I have to say I am totally loving the capri and tank top set above for my exercise classes and at a super price I may have to take a closer look at Heaven Of Brands for my other bits and pieces too!
Also having a teen daughter who also plays hockey I really need to invest in some sports kit for her that is reasonably priced and also easy to wear day to day if she wishes .. who doesn’t love some super comfy sports kit … my teen does … oh and my hand was in the air too .. does that finally mean I am down with the kids? .. OK maybe not!
I am certainly never going to be a slave to fashion like my teen, but I am all up for allowing clothes that fit, are reasonably priced and can help boost my already deflated ego ..
Do you make do in the gym with clothes you already have?
