For me work has been hectic and Ollie’s workload is said to be the busiest ever in the next 2 weeks, so finding some time for family fun has to be set as a paramount task!
Last week my planning came to fruition as I took delivery of a fantastic range of board games from House of Fraser, many of which were half price!
I don’t know why we don’t have many board games anyway as they were very prominent in my childhood memories, however with screens and electronics in every directions I think we forget about taking time away and switching off … and that’s my plan
Some festive family fun … in real life!
With the school holidays looming I thought it would be wise to try out some of our new games before I am left at home with the toddler and teen on my own with no real clue on how to play some of these games. So this weekend we have cracked open the box on our family time and we played our first of what I hope will be a regular slot of family time.
There was almost harmony … or as much as we are likely to get with a toddler and a teen so in my book it certainly worked out far better than It has done in my head.
I am also intending in the new year to have at least one afternoon a week where the TV’s and screens are off in favour of some proper non electronic play .. not sure how Beth will cope with that .. or me if I am honest, but we can try!
Do you play many board games? if so which ones?
