The last 16 weeks have been the longest of my life.
Yes, but it really has been a long drawn out 16 weeks and I am tired of the whole debacle.
Back in September I was involved in a car accident. While stationary at a junction the car behind me drove into the back of me shunting my car across 2 lanes of a dual carriage way.
It ended up with me having my car written off, constant and debilitating pain for many weeks and then a continued pain in my lower back since all resulting in weekly Physio sessions.
My Physiotherapist has been amazing I have to admit but this whole thing has left me time poor, costing me hours of travel and appointments and stress like you would not believe at forever playing catch up.
However last week I finally hd my very last Physio appointment, my neck is much less painful and now its just a waiting game for that to finally go back to normal but my lower spine is still tight, painful and pretty inflexible. Although that being said it is a vast improvement from the first session I ever had.
Now its time for the big guns to come out and the Physiotherapist has suggested she request that I be seen by a Orthopaedic Consultant to see if there is anything they could do to get rid of the pain altogether… I am still hopeful there is.
However for now I am Physio free and trying to regain my life without the weekly appointments and childcare to organise each week for them. I am also pleased she has said I can return to the gym even if I have to take things very slowly as I want to shift the lard and exercise is my friend for this.
I certainly won’t miss the deep massage, back manipulation or exercises but I do now appreciate my back and my body as a whole a lot more and that I really out to do more to take care of it as I have felt first hand what a long term damaged back feels like.
So here’s to finishing Physio
