If you are a regular reader you will know that over the last 2 years I have been taking part in yearly charity fundraising events with Team Honk, last year was for comic relief and a 6 hour Danceathon and the year before was the marathon walk for the Team Honk relay in aid of Sports Relief …. That day and that challenge nearly broke me …
However over the last 2 years I have been thrilled to take part in those epic challenges to support charities where I could.
This year Team Honk have yet to share their charity fundraising plans and I am hoping that I will be fit enough to take part in whatever they are doing as I am currently due to have my baby at the end of the week.
So while I am out of action for a short while our charity money-raising is taking a slight different route for February as I have roped in my Husband…
Which I will be honest is shocking in itself that he has agreed to sign up for anything as he is always so busy he barely gets time to sleep never mind do anything else.
So why is he signing up to raise money?
Its super simple….
FitBit are supporting this years Sports Relief campaign and since he got a FitBit for Christmas … other than signing up he has to do nothing else except what he was doing before … walking!
The folks at FitBit are on a mission to support their tracker users to not only get fit for life by walking but also by its users walking to raise money supporting a good cause too!
For every FitBit user that signs up our steps will be combined and for every billion steps we take together Fitbit will donate £50,000 to Sport Relief
So no matter how many steps you take every single one of those steps you take once you’re registered from the 1st February till 31st March will be counted in the tally of combined steps from us all.
And even if you think you can’t take part as you don’t own a FitBit … if you decided to buy one in this period then FitBit will also add money into the pot for this too!
Although for me I am going to be recuperating after surgery so can’t take part I will certainly be cheering hubs on to get his steps up … and I can’t wait to get back on my own fitness journey and get back to challenging my friends while upping my fitness and losing my baby weight …. So watch out FitBit … The Oliver’s are on track!
