This weekend certainly was flying high for Multiple Sclerosis.
I have had the most amazingly humbling time watching 2 very brave people jump out of a plane in the name of a charity – Multiple Sclerosis
Charlotte is Ollie’s cousin and Lucy is her best friend (partner in flying crime) A couple of years ago Charlotte who was 21 at the time was diagnosed with MS, although no one would ever have known. She has tackled all this disease has thrown at her with such guts, determination and style without complaint or gripe.
So on Saturday this family of Oliver’s headed off with several other Oliver family members to go and support Charlotte and Lucy with this epic adventure.
Initially the weather forecast had said that it was not going to be too clever, although on waking up the weather really was perfect!
Joshua was loving the fact cousin Dan was there and they were pretty much inseparable, chasing, playing football and swinging over handrails (don’t you just love them!)
With nerves kicking in from Charlotte and Lucy (although far more dignified with them than I would be) they went off and had some training and then got kitted up.
There were amazing cakes, party food galore however first they needed to jump!
Both jumped with style and dignity and watching them land to earth after one of the most exciting experiences of their lives really was a humbling, yet emotional time. I know the girls will never forget the day but If I am honest I don’t think I ever will either.
So after they jumped the relief, merriment and friendships were sealed with food, cake and a new found respect and even some contraband champaign! ….
Thank you Charlotte and Lucy for letting us all be by your sides (although not in the plane!) You are both so amazing. Well done!
Now although we have all seen the sickly begging pledges I am not going to do the same but if you would like to support them you know what to do:
