Fun and friendships have always been difficult for me, in the past I blogged about the randomness of some of some so called friends I had picked up along the way that had slightly knocked my belief in friendships.
I am not sure if I am the only one, but having a family, work and life sometimes really does get in the way of the free time and friendships that I once had, it also made me feel especially bad as a friend in the past that time whizzs by so quickly meaning it can be months without any real direct contact with some of my besties.
For the first time in a very long time I am I have accepted my limitations as a friend, time is tight and hard to find, but I am ok with this and so are my friends. Dont get me wrong if one of them needed me I would be there like a shot with wine, tissues and maybe some chocolate if Ollie hadn’t found it first.
This weekend saw one of my besties celebrate her 30th Birthday albeit a little later than her actual birthday (remember I told you time was tight for me, it really is the same for others too!…. phew!) So a group of her friends and family visited Bistro Live in Nottingham for some food, fun and to enjoy ourselves, and I could not wait to catch up with some of those fantastic ladies. I have had the pleasure of meeting most of them at other gatherings from Stacey’s, Hen Do, Wedding Reception and even Baby Shower and I was not disappointed at their warmth and acceptance once more.
Although much time had elapsed since seeing many of these ladies it was a fantastic evening and one that held so much laughter and bad dancing … did I mention you dance on the tables at The Bistro Live?? … It also contained the best part of 2 bottles of wine and pint for me too … and I am not really a drinker…. as my hangover yesterday only proved, and yes it was one of the those that meant I kept one leg on the floor at all times as the room swam.
Having said that, even with the worst hangover in the world, I was so very grateful to be in such fine company on Saturday with a really lovely bunch of ladies who I already cant wait to see again at another gathering soon, although maybe without quite so much wine for me… or table dancing … OK maybe still with both!
Happy Birthday Stacey and well done Bistro Live .. it was my first visit and now I am hooked!!
