Last week saw our second proper swimming lesson for Jacob (19 months) and I was thrilled that Ollie was off work that day so he was able to go in the water and take the class with Jacob instead of me.
If you missed the last post, you can find it HERE. however Jacobs swimming group consists of 3 of them and I love just how unique Sally from EMSA is with them all and adapting each lesson to the individual needs and confidences of all 3 of them.
On his first week Jacob started feeling the benefits of being in the water again and engaging a few commands such as “Jacob, ready, go” and then getting water in his face. Which by the end of the first lesson he was loving it … and even cried when we had to get out the pool.
Last week I saw the water in the face taken to a whole new level as I got to watch how he responded to a full on face submersion and I got to watch it from the side of the pool which was even better to see how he coped and this only confirmed that we are doing the right thing and that Sally knows her stuff as this little guy LOVED it!
As soon as Sally said “Jacob ready” he closed his eyes ready for a submersion
and on “go” he was totally ready and waiting for the dip!
I think it goes without saying he is a confident little guy in the pool!
So lesson two was certainly a hit! Thank you Konfidence in supporting Jacobs swimming journey by allowing us to go as part of the Konfidence Swimologist programme.
I honestly can’t wait to see how he gets over the next few weeks.
