Happy 1st Blog Birthday To Me – Yep a year ago today I posted my very first blog post and looking back I now cringe! about the post not blogging!…. I had no idea about the world of blogging nor did I understand the crazy, helpful, supportive and immense community that comes with this blogging business.
Now from the beginning I have been so very lucky to find the Britmums Newbie Forum In which I found the most amazing bloggers who were so helpful and supportive of each other. In that forum I also found the lovely Vicky from Verily Victoria Vocalises who very quickly became such an amazing friend both in real life and also in the blogging world. Her support helped me set up my very own bloggers linky Magic Moments … so thank you Vicky.
I originally started blogging as an on-line journal if you like of what happens here in The Oliver’s Madhouse. It has developed into so much more. Not being used to being a stay at home parent I needed something to oil those cogs along with being family orientated and my blogging journey began.
I have been so very fortunate to be able to attend some amazing blogging events within the last 12 months such as the amazing Birmingham Blog Summit and the prestigious Britmums Live with the help of my fantastic sponsor TheBabyWebsite.com. I have enjoyed the workshops which gave me lots of inspiration and also the ability to meet yet more terrific bloggers like Joy from Pinkoddy, Charly from PODcast, Anne from Raisie Bay and Afra from Mad Mum Of 7 …. the list really could go on and on…. (sorry if I haven’t listed you)
In my first year I also entered a few competitions, one of which I actually won and The Oliver’s headed off for some full on luxury with a Mark Warner holiday to Corsica … and yes I nearly wet my pants when I found out … don’t leave me hanging, I am sure you guys would have done too?!
Blogging as well as being so amazing I wont kid you ……. it has been hard hard work at times. I have on a couple of occasions lost my way and after returning to my roots and blogging about the highs and lows of our lives the mojo soon returned. In the beginning my aversion to twitter caused some anxiety and now I can be seen on there pretty much 24/7…..its amazing how much has changed in one year!
Now it doesn’t just stop there since I have been privileged to discover some amazing brands in abundance some of those super lovely people have decided to be extra kind and during this week I will be hosting a new competition everyday with some amazing prizes.
So please do pop back and enter!
I do just want to take the time to say a massive thank you to each and every one of my lovely readers, linkers and tweeters for supporting me on one of the most fantastic journeys and I can’t wait to get going on year 2!!
And since I wont get to see most of you in person today I will be having one of these and raising a toast to you all.
