A few weeks ago I had a car accident.
Although my car looked slightly damaged there was obviously untold damage not visible to the naked eye as they wrote off my poor car and I have spent weeks dealing with the aftermath.
What I have also been dealing with was a sprained back in 2 places along with a headache from hell and exacerbated symptoms of my Pubis Symphysis Dysfunction which is now more painful than ever was while pregnant.
Thankfully I have been sent to see a private Physiotherapist and I have been going religiously for the last few weeks.
At the initially consultation I didn’t expect much but was pleased that my lovely Physiotherapist listened to me. She soon had me booked in (the next day) to start the treatment and couldn’t have been more pleased.
In the past I have never really put much stock in stretching and Physio but I have to say I have to take it all back. My lovely therapist has worked utter wonders massaging and helping me stretch my neck and back. After 3 sessions I am beginning to feel my back and neck uncurl and release. I am still in an awful amount of pain particularly in my lower back and behind my ear into my skull but the tightness has started to go and I am able to use the exercises Elizabeth has given me to stretch out my neck and back and arm and will keep on trying to do them as I must admit I am somewhat board of hurting and being uncomfortable now.
I was hoping to be at the gym by now shifting some flubber but for now I would settle for just being pain-free… and hope that I can resume going to the gym again soon.
Once I have been given the all clear I am hoping to take up Yoga on a regular basis to help in the long-term with stretching and keeping my back in better shape now I know the benefits of Physio and stretching … just like the rest of me I think it’s going to be a longer process than I thought but I’m ready to feel better and will do what it takes to get there.
