Over the years family time has become ever more important. As the years have sped past and the boys have grown older I am even more determined to make the most of each and every second we have together.
Last year was an epic year, we reduced our over spending and started watching the pennies, meaning we took things back to basics and even our holidays were low cost affairs, as camping took us on several breaks, one with our lovely friends and so the kids got to play together and then with just us at Callow Top in Derbyshire.
Both trips were amazing and next year we plan to do many more if we can fit them round everything else seems to zap our family time.
Also, we have been trying to take back control of our family finances so money saving has been a massive factor in our year and it is one that we need to continue with for 2019.
We are going to spend more time this year setting budgets and being far more organised with meal planning, food shopping and generally being more organised with everything as we know from this past year that being organised does save money not buying last minute over prices alternatives.
Birthdays this year are going to fall in line with the being more organised aspect too. Shopping around for gifts in advance means that no last minute overpriced cards and panic bought presents are going to be a thing of the past.
Health wise this year I need to be back on the ball. I am still fat and unhappy and this being my 40th year I always vowed to never be fat and unhappy at 40 so I have until September to kick my own ass and get back to losing some weight and feeling happier in my own skin again.
Although I always wanted to learn how to run, I am just going be more realistic and I need to think about just being more active in general.
This year we are going to reinvent family time in a bigger way. More back to basics and more family time.
Have you and your family made any decisions about the coming year?
