Finding which mortgage I needed was beyond confusing and there was little information in one place.. these days there is so much more offered in the form of support like the TSB website who have a page dedicated to First Time Buyers which gives some information on what is on offer for the first time buyer.
For me it was all about inviting people round to look and also getting in some girlie time so my house-warming was a little different with Wine and nibbles and lots and lots of chatter .. followed by some sleeping bodies on the sofas!
If I got the chance to do it all again I think I would probably be a little more exciting with proper home cooked foods but more on the easy to serve things like Lasagne Cupcakes which are all pre portioned or even Shepherds Pie Jar Pots which are cooked into their own jars or even some Chicken Pot Pie‘s! which look really cool in their individual portions!
I think having looked around for some inspiration it really would be easy to go over board with excitement hosting a house-warming party but I think the key for me is less is more.
There are some super low-cost activities, foods and Ideas out there and with new responsibilities of mortgage in my opinion its best to start as you mean to go on.
If you are looking for some inspiration I have collected some of my favourites here:
If you have some super ideas for a budget house-warming please do let me know!
