Where exactly have 2 months gone?
It has been the most painful yet pleasing journey I have been on.
The operation to repair my internal muscles, put back my internal organs into their original positions and for my core to be covered in medical meshing and stitch it in place was immensely painful and the couple of weeks following it I genuinely wondered if I had in fact chosen to do the right thing in having the operation at all.
After an infection that lead to an A&E trip immensely early one morning the antibiotics kicked in and I started to feel like a new women.
The hardest thing to deal with after the pain (as that was managed well with painkillers) was the fact that I looked the same. Many people, myself included have presumed I am fit and healthy and it was immensely hard to maintain a no lifting, no physical exertion stance. Thankfully Ollie and my Mum were my main no lifting champions and were on my case constantly or I would have caved in and gone back to normal without allowing myself the much-needed healing time.
A week or so back I had the final sign off as fit and well and although the consultant has signed me off his books there will be a few months yet before I am physically ok enough to go back to fully being normal.
I am now able however to go back to the gym (no lifting and well supported) and I am also allowed to go back to yoga and aqua aerobics however since being signed off as healthy I had over a week with the D&V bug and have now developed a pain on the left side of section wound.
It hurts to lift, twist and even sleep so I fear I may have to go back to the Dr’s and ask for a referral back to the consultant.
I was so hoping to get my fitness journey back on track but I am now struggling again.
Heres hoping it’s only a glitch.
