However working from home sometimes its easy to forget how lucky I am in terms of the people in my life and what other things in my life I ought to feel lucky about such as the food on the table and friends on tap.
In Nottingham there is a rather large and group of bloggers that cover a massive range of niches and it’s not often we get to meet up with life, kids and other priorities that get in the way. So when the lovely Penny from A Residence and Parent Shaped suggested a meet up at hers I jumped at the chance.
While discussing options Penny brought up the idea of hosting the gathering at her home as a #FauxHoHo in aid of Action Aid which meant having a ‘fake’ Christmas celebration before Christmas, and we all took some food to Penny’s and then the remainder of the money we would have spent on a meal out together was put into a pot to help support Action Aid … so not only would we get to meet up, eat and be jolly so would others off the back of our next up! … genius
With some amazing food, much laughter and some long overdue conversations in really life as opposed to social media it was time for some fun selfies.
I love that our Nottingham gathering actually meant that from our donations our gathering will feed two children hot dinners for a year and the lovely thought about that is we still ate, still enjoyed getting together and nothing was missing from our get together yet we were still able to help 2 people less fortunate than us with Action Aid!
Thanks Becky from A Beautiful Space, Emily from A Mummy Too, Donna from Ordinary Cycling Girl, Catherine from Growing Family and my fellow pregnant Notts blogger Lucy from Lish Concepts for your company ladies … lets not leave it so long next time! Although the biggest thank you goes to Penny for allowing us to party at your home and for sharing such a fantastic concept to support others!
Through the month of December the folks over at Wayfair are challenging Bloggers to #BlogItForward and to carry out a good deed to someone else and to blog about it, and include the #BlogItForward badge and challenge other bloggers to take part and they will donate £50 for Habit To Humanity, so here is my entry to this too!
Well after all Christmas is a time for giving … no matter how big or small.
