This year we are implementing what we hope will be our own family Christmas traditions, when we first got together 5 years ago we did struggle to combine our own childhood traditions.
For us traditions are really important for our children to remember as we have such lovely memories of our own and they only heighten the excitement of the festive season along the way
This year we have made the decision to stay at home for lunch and so when we finally made the decision a few weeks back I upped the ante as to what to actually cook on the day … Turkey is a must and according to everyone else I should be boycotting the sprouts … which in my book is sacrilege so instead I am going to make it my mission to get at least one more family member to love the sprout before the festive season is over! … although in all I wont be holding my breath! so with this in mind I am thinking I might try t win them over with some Bacon Wrapped Brussels … which look divine, although I am not stopping there I have lots of ideas here too:
If money were no object I would also be trying to serve my
burnt roasted Brussels on some beautiful new crockery or some must have cake stand with lid (which by the way if anyone is looking to buy me anything *nudge nudge hubby* …. I NEED that cake stand!)
My colour theme is certainly more along the classic lines with white, red and silver, however my thrifty side is telling me that I can be reusing lots of these pieces again throughout the year like the beautiful denby serving bowls and platters or the beautiful Madison crockery set that is edged with red ..
Did I tell you my kitchen is red?
