I am a regular booker on Booking.com but I had never really heard about villas.com before as regular readers know of my love of holidays and keeping my eyes peeled for quality holidays that wont break the bank! … it was time to find out what Villas.com had to offer!
On arriving to London I firstly was gob-smacked … on entering the salubrious location (Cheval Three Quays apartments ) which by the way is where I will be moving too if I won the lottery … or even to do a room share with some other bloggers may be for Britmums Live next year?? Although I fear If I moved in, with panoramic views over several of the most prestigious sights in London I may not want to leave!
During the event I decided I think I maybe a little behind the times when it comes to booking holidays and breaks as on a recent survey for booking.com 94% of Brits stating that their last build-your-own break was either as good as they expected or surpassed their expectations, other than the odd night away at a conference (normally booked on booking.com) our holidays have always been package deals.
Now this got me thinking as to why I do this… why do I always insist on package deals?
I think it comes down to the fact I am lazy .. it’s as simple as that, I think in the past I have always gone down the package deal route and therefore I have never really looked at anything else, or even registered that it may not be the better deal for me or that they are fairly restrictive.
So for me it was really great to have some time to talk to these guys about what is on offer with villas.com, and the one things I think that pleased me more than anything else is that they are customer focussed which is really very refreshing to hear!
Thanks booking.com and villas.com for taking the time to share and for helping me see the wider picture when it comes to booking my holidays and in answer to my original question…
Are Build Your Own Break Holidays The Way Forward?
I think they just might be, I am certainly loving the fact I can be more in control of my break!
Last week bookings.com started an amazing competition called #bookingyeah. The prize is a huge $20,000 to the winners’ account to spend on Booking.com accommodation.
All entrants have to do is upload their favourite travel photo to Instagram or Twitter, tagging @bookingcom and #bookingyeah or you can visit http://www.booking.com/bookingyeah/ and upload your pictures there! …… and guess what … I am overnighting next Friday in a bookings.com hotel so I will be tweeting my picture next weekend! (and crossing EVERYTHING)
