However after taking a look at what the app has to offer I have to say I am not one for wrapping my child in bubble wrap, however I wish I this had been installed on my daughters phone during her pre-teen years!
Beth like many children and teens can be a little lax with keeping us up to date with their locations, made easier by the fact a large percentage actually have a mobile phone. For me for a while she was using her phone to text us her location only to trip herself up later on that she had not been there at all. Add to the fact that her friends were positioned from one end of our village to the other it really did become a guessing game.
So this particular app would have been amazing for us to use with her, no more … “I’m sorry I forgot to tell you we were at so and so’s house” in fact scratch that .. even at 13, when she give her the replacement phone (after breaking the 3rd one in 18 months) I will be installing this and at least I will have peace of mind that I will know where she is!
Being the nosy bugger that most of my readers already know that I am I decided to load up folr myself and see just how user-friendly it would be in action.
I am not an app geek and anything that takes longer than 3 minutes to log in/load up or to fill in settings it’s a no go with me, so it was great to add my phone number and pretty much be on my location tracking way.
Ok so it was easy to install for me on an iPhone, but I was more than pleased to find out the app could be downloaded on all smart phones and tablets too which means that I could keep tabs on hubs too! …
Here are some more of Folr’s features:
Follow and be followed – Two different lists, one to follow others and one for others to follow you.
Detailed Location History – A really in-depth history of the person you’re following for a whole year
Privacy guaranteed – The person that is being followed can activate and deactivate when they life along with setting up no track times!
As much as I had a few niggles about a tracking app, I have to say our situation this will be great of keeping an eye on our teen!
