I am slightly terrified that in just one months time my littlest fella will be celebrating his very first birthday and I have no idea of just where this last year has gone!
Don’t get me wrong I have been very excited and so very privileged to spend this last year watching him grow but my goodness I don’t half feel like he should still only be a few months old!
Last month for Jacob it was all about speed crawling and just starting out on walking with furniture, this month it’s certainly all about cruising fully with anything he can get his hands on!
He loves nothing more than cruising up and down the sofa, however Christmas gave him a new mode of transport in the form of his much-loved wooden trolley!
My parents bought Joshua one for his first Christmas and have done the same again with Jacob and he is utterly smitten with it. He thinks nothing of charging up and down the room regardless of what lay in front of him, feet, toys, bags … he really doesn’t care. I honestly think he might just crack this walking lark before his first birthday!
This month has obviously been Christmas and so spending time with him for his first Christmas has been wonderful.
We slowed right down for the festivities this year and just enjoyed being a family and watching the kids faces and hearing those little laughs. It has been one of my favourite times with the kids over the last couple of months. I am planning on making sure I spend more time chilling out, playing and relaxing with them this coming year.
Sleep wise this month Jacob has decided that 4.18am every morning is the new get up and play time and no amount of cajoling will tell him otherwise, so he no longer sleeps those 12 wonderful hours and we have had to adjust our own bedtime in favour of his new routine after a week or so of painful 3 and 4 hours sleep!
This month I can honestly say it has really hit home that Jacob is no longer a ‘baby’ and is now a fully fledged little boy … no longer a baby but not quite a toddler either.
I have to finally admit my Mum did know best, this time really does fly!
