This month has seen some really big changes in my littlest boy with his personality starting to shine through Joshua has developed a really beautiful obsession with his little baby brother and watching that bond grow is something so very special.
The biggest life altering change for us this month has been Jacobs new night-time habits … at the very beginning of the month he has started to sleep for longer, often from 9pm -9.30 through till 5am – 6.30am which was amazing, however after the revelation that the night-time nightmare hour between 8pm – 9pm was in fact Jacob saying he was tired and wanting to go to bed much earlier!
Thats right Jacob is now regularly sleeping from 7pm -8pm through till 5am – 6.30 am each night and it has made for a much calmer and quieter month all round.
Last month Jacob has developed a muted laugh, he would do everything you normally do when you laugh but without the vocalness so its been lovely to hear him chuckle … normally when his brother dances and sings for him or when Daddy blows raspberries on his tummy.
Jacob also hit my hat trick this month at being my third baby to be a thumb sucker! he has found his thumb of great comfort, although we do get tears sometimes when he is nodding off and it drops out his mouth, however it is funny watching him use his other hand to hold it in with.!
Now Jacob is starting to take an interest in the world around him and has developed the need to play with activity arches, raffles and teethers he is starting to want to have more tummy time too which is lovely to watch how much he has come on.
Turning 4 months old has meant a massive head gathering exercise as I have to keep correcting myself from saying newborn baby, as he is a full-fledged baby, there is nothing ‘newborn’ about him these days which leaves me feeling torn at how quickly he is growing but also excited to discover this littlest boy of mine.
