Once again I am taking stock of the last month with Jacob and once again it will come as no surprise that not only am still shocked at how fast the time is going but also at how much he changes in only a few weeks.
As anticipated last month, this month Jacob has taken to eating meals with chunks and has been eating 7+ months food for around 3 weeks and has taken almost all of it in his stride, although preferring pasta dishes over potato dishes … although when hungry he will tackle anything.
He also is loving self weaning and things like baby melty puffs and rice cakes are the order of the day so it’s a good job he now has 2 bottom teeth to attack things with… including my fingers!
Movement wise he is really really coming on in leaps and bounds and I have noticed and increase in his concentration levels and his ability to now really focus on his finger grip and will pick up small things himself, although often doesn’t hold them for long periods.
His new trick this month has been his ability to sit unaided. Jacob starts off well and will sit for fairly long periods of time (5-10 mins) until he get over excited and then throws himself nose first forward in most instances.
Sleep has been once again great, but this month I am not sure if its been the heat or not, however he has taken a while to settle on a few nights but a visit from Mummy or Daddy for a cuddle normally sorts it out!
Brotherly love has also been high on this months learning for Jacob. Joshua has been so excited with him now he actually attempts to ‘talk’ to him and often favours Joshua over anyone else, much to his delight.
Please time just slow down a little …
