Although writing a post every month to mark Jacobs progress is something I will look back on with love, currently it’s feeling a little bit like it’s mocking me.
The time is flying by so fast I can’t quite believe he has been rocking our world for 8 whole months.
Over this last month there have been some amazing changes as his growth has been astronomical.
He is already in 9-12 month clothing and seeing the squeeze on some of his outfits I fear the transition into 12-18 will be coming sooner than we think!
The chubby baby stage is well underway as his rolls develop more rolls ready for the next movement stage that will hopefully bring on the crawling.
It’s like he is building his reserves ready to chase me all over the house if his pudgy roll size has anything to do with it.
Sitting unaided and standing with help is totally what this month has brought with it, along with yet 4 more teeth making a grand total of 6 teeth. We were slightly concerned at one point as the 2 bottom teeth came through followed by the 2 fangs on the top! … However after a horrific week of teething last week the little solider pushed through his 2 top middle teeth on the same day.
This particular week was hard, after all no one wants to see their baby so upset.
This month has also brought on new feeding challenges.
Jacob is now eating jarred stage 2 foods, but is still apprehensive about eating real weaning foods often gagging. I fear this is because he is in fact a rather lazy bugger and likes the easy life. Working for his food is certainly not his favourite pastime.
This month we have also noticed a massive difference in his general behaviour, he is now turning when he is called and thriving on facial expressions that you give him.
This month has also seen the brotherly bond take on a whole new level of love.
Now Jacob can verbal show Joshua he is having fun, Joshua is more than excited to spend some time with his little brother.
This month I have really seen my baby starting to make that transition to little boy and I am scared and excited all rolled into one.
