This month has been packed to the rafters with first and from turning 8 months old to now Jacob is like a different boy and I say boy as it’s almost like he is no longer a baby!
Three weeks ago we had to finally admit defeat and get out the 12-18 month wardrobe for him as he really was busting out the seams! he has super long in the body and with him piling on the weight over the last 4-6 weeks ready for moving about he is nothing short of tank like.
There have been no new teeth this month even with slobber and drawl being in abundance, however what we do have that is new is his ability to climb! he will climb anything if he is given the chance. Although he is not climbing stairs his little chunky legs are certainly mimicking the action but thankfully we have so far had him contained in the playpen and his cot which has now had to be lowered to the bottom setting.
Biggest news of the month however is his newest ability!
He started off doing what I could only describe as a commando type crawl, slithering on his belly and a week after that started he got fed up so picked himself up and there has been no looking back since, nowhere is now safe!
Jacob is rather pleased with his new ability as finally he can get at his brothers toys that he has been longingly watching from afar, although Joshua is not pleased at this at all as he has now had the last of his toys removed upstairs for the time being as most have little pieces.
This month has also seen Jacob have his first school photos! … on arriving at school on photo day we were told we could have some of the boys together and Jacob on his own so we certainly got in there!
Since out holiday this month Jacob has also developed a new love, my belly! Although he has never been a clingy baby and has self settled, while on holiday for his morning nap he has sought me out for a Mummy cuddle and has then promptly fell asleep. He is only there 20-30 mins tops but it seems to have now become a ‘thing’ and the moment he is on me he is snoring!
It’s quite nice that he has this sleep on me but I was afraid initially that it would cause issues with his self settling abilities for his longer afternoon nap or even bedtime self settling routine but he seems unphased by these so I think for now we will just enjoy the morning cuddle.
What a month it has been but I have a sneaking suspicion that next month might be even more major on the moving front!
