The LeapFrog LeapBand is an activity tracker made for kids that encourages active play and healthy habits and movements with 50 fun challenges but to start with I was dubious that this device that looks like a watch would in fact get him moving anymore than he already did, but I was wrong.
His LeapBand was an instantaneous hit and after a whole month of using it, he is more addicted with each day which under normal circumstances I would be anxious about how much time Joshua was playing with an electronic device but LeapFrog have already got it covered as with this device as you can set it up quiet time and bedtime so you can effectively shut it down on a lock down between set hours or even days if that’s what you want to do.
Now the super good news is that it is totally customisable with what your child can or cant do activity wise and when you plug it in and go on the internet to the LeapBand home page and you can remove the activities you think your child can’t manage and then add them back on as they get bigger!
How the LeapBand works is by your child having their own digital pet that the activities your child performs the more Jewels they receive, the more jewels they have the happier the pet and they can get extra pets to train and earn jewels with too.
What I really loved about the LeapBand is the ease of use even for a 3.5 year old, he just got it, no explanation nothing and he has loved it ever since.
The only one feature that I would have personally loved if I had my say would be to have installed a volume control just to take it down a fraction when needed, although that’s not a necessity and would not put me off buying this.
